Feature-Sensitive Ring Artifact Correction for Computed Tomography

چکیده
Abstract In computed tomography (CT) reconstruction, ring artifacts emerge from incorrectly normalized or defective detector elements. Correction algorithms often introduce blur do not correctly accommodate the behaviour of those artifacts. Normalization errors stem noise in images during normalization process and are always present to some degree. We propose a method for correcting elements sinogram. Our approach compensates both individual gain as well offset pixel values. reduce by inferring information each its neighbors only subset all projections. show with datasets real measurments that our is effective at mitigating shortcomings purely based approaches using Furthermore, can be efficiently implemented compensating most overhead times. Under usual circumstances, function no additional time all.

Evaluation of Metal Artifact Reduction software in Computed Tomography
Introduction: The image quality of computed tomography (CT) can be seriously lowered by metal implants of patients. These implants are known to exert a significant impact on diagnostic accuracy due to artifacts. The current study aimed to assess the usefulness of Metal Artifact Reduction (MAR) software in the reduction of metal artifacts, in comparison to iterative rec...
متن کاملValidation of computed tomography-based attenuation correction of deviation between theoretical and actual values for four computed tomography scanners
Objective: In this study, we aimed to validate the accuracy of computed tomography-based attenuation correction (CTAC) using the bilinear scaling method. Methods: The measured attenuation coefficient (μm) was compared to a theoretical attenuation coefficient (μt ) using four different CT scanners and an RMI 467 phantom. The effective energy of the CT beam X-rays was calculated, using the aluminu...
متن کاملArtifact reduction techniques in Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging modality
Introduction: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was introduced and became more common based on its low cost, fast image procedure rate and low radiation dose compared to CT. This imaging modality improved diagnostic and treatment-planning procedures by providing three-dimensional information with greatly reduced level of radiation dose compared to 2D dental imaging modalitie...
متن کاملArtifact Correction for Zernike Phase-Plate Cryo-Electron Tomography
In cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), vitreously frozen biological specimens can tolerate only a limited electron dose for imaging. Therefore, cryo-EM micrographs display weak contrast and a poor signal-to-noise ratio. This limits data interpretability and prevents efficient application of cryo-EM to a wider range of biological problems. Continued efforts have been invested in imaging methods ...
